Why See Mavis Staples and Ani DiFranco?

An extra special live broadcast of eTown

Nationally syndicated radio broadcast eTown has produced inspiring musical, social and environmental programming since 1991. Recorded in front of a live audience, the show is now celebrating over 25 years of uplifting content with an extra special live broadcast featuring musician and feminist icon Ani DiFranco and legendary soul singer and civil rights activist Mavis Staples.

Regularly performing at multiple benefit concerts, DiFranco has backed multiple grass roots political and social causes through her Righteous Babe Foundation. Said to have been one of Martin Luther King's favorite performers, Staples considerable body of work underscored the civil rights movement of the 50s and 60s. Hosted by eTown stalwarts Helen and Nick Forster, the two-hour taping will not only feature live music from these influential women in music, but arresting conversation to boot.
