All left with smiling faces
I'm not one for festivities, but this really took my by surprise. Seeing my families faces light up with enjoyment, I too found myself having fun. Choreography, set and story all perfect for this time of the year. Thank you for igniting my holiday flame again.
Perfect family tradition
The perfect way to welcome the buzz of Christmas! Highly recommended, fun for all the family. Great seats and great atmosphere, purely magical.
Spectacular
I saw the Denver Ballot’s Nutcracker last night with my family and we were not disappointed! Absolutely recommend this show for anyone who loves the traditional and nostalgic story of the Nutcracker. I sat there in amazement, I have gone to this production every year for at least a decade. I was a ballerina for my entire childhood and I was extremely impressed! My inner child came out as I sat there with wide eyes, taking in the whole experience! Every dance and song were on point, nothing was left out or done poorly. The cast is extremely talented, true athletes to say the least! We will absolutely be back next year to see my favorite ballet! Thank you Denver Ballet!
Wonderful Mother-Daughter Tradition
My adult daughter and I have a tradition of attending the Colorado Ballet production of The Nutcracker at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and it's always an amazing holiday experience. The ballet is excellent, the venue is welcoming and it's wonderful to see the children in the audience learning to appreciate the ballet. We wouldn't miss it and highly recommend it.
Beautiful set and Orchestra
The set and orchestra were amazing. The ballet technique was inconsistent. Several of the main dancers were not as strong as expected. Herr Drosselmeyer, the Nutcracker prince, Clara, and the woman who danced with the sugar plum fairies were all excellent, the rest were just ok, especially the main performance where one anticipates principal dancers.
Enjoyable Nutcracker
Gregory Gonzalez was an amazing Herr Drosselmeyer! Seats were closer (because of Orchestra Pit?) than they appeared on the venue seating chart. Production felt a bit rushed compared to other Nutcrackers - perhaps so they could keep it a 2 hours total. Children in the production were uniformly excellent. Main dancers were somewhat mixed. All of the Kingdom of Sweets dances were great except the Arabian duo was miscast and underwhelming. The soloist who danced Clara in the cast I saw was strong technically and very charming. Staging of some of the main dances Flowers and Snowflakes was average. Easy parking. Festive and fun for all ages.
