Colorado Symphony Orchestra - The Rite of Spring at Boettcher Concert Hall

Why see Colorado Symphony Orchestra - The Rite of Spring?

A stunning salutation to spring

The Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Chorus round off their concert season with a stunning salvo of masterful music, with Stravinsky's Le Sacre Du Printemps: The Rite of Spring headlining the program. Led by Peter Oundjian, CO Symphony's principal conductor, the orchestra will also be joined by the virtuosic Grammy-winning violinist Augustin Hadelich for a rendition of Brahms' expressive Violin Concerto in D Major.

The Rite of Spring is one of Stravinsky's true masterpieces. Composed for the Parisienne ballet company Ballet Russes in time for their 1913 season, the bombastic work famously incited a riot at its grand premiere, one of the most notorious events in the history of the artform. In the eyes of many it remains one of the most exciting pieces of orchestral work and worth witnessing for any lover of powerful music.
