Meet Bud and Doug, two enthusiastic (if not slightly misguided) writers with dreams of Broadway glory. Armed with nothing but boundless creativity and a plethora of hilarious hats, these two lovable underdogs embark on a quest to stage their over-the-top historical epic. As they transform into an eclectic cast of characters, from the ambitious Gutenberg to a scheming monk and a dim-witted peasant, their dedication and earnestness shine through, making for an evening that is as heartwarming as it is hilarious.
Expect the unexpected in this delightfully offbeat production. "Guttenberg! The Musical!" is a meta-theatrical marvel, blending clever satire with genuine affection for its subject matter. It's a love letter to the spirit of invention and the audacity of dreaming big, no matter the odds.
Directed by Alex Timbers, Gutenberg! The Musical came to life in 2005, written by Brown King when they were part of a legendary improv troupe, Upright Citizens Brigade, where it was part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, before scoring an Off-Broadway run in 2006. Don't miss it in Denver!
